Pursuant to its Privacy Policy, JFE Systems, Inc. ("Company" hereinafter) uses and handles personal information received from customers, trading partners, job applicants, those making inquiries to the Company, and others properly as described below.

3. Purpose of use of personal information

Purpose of use of personal data held (subject to demands for disclosure)

(1) Personal information found on business cards or questionnaires submitted in interviews, trade shows, seminars, and other activities is used for purposes such as responding to inquiries and requests, provide introductions to and information on the products or services of Company businesses (hereinafter, this refers to the businesses described under Products and Services on the Company website), trade shows, and seminars, and requesting cooperation in surveys.

(2) Personal information provided by customers who request Company product catalogs and explanatory materials on the Company website is used for purposes such as responding to inquiries and requests, providing introductions to and information on the products or services of Company businesses, trade shows, and seminars, and requesting cooperation in surveys.

(3) Personal information provided on the "Employment" page of the Company website and personal information concerning job applicants collected during the screening process is used solely for Company employment activities and will be deleted promptly after the end of hiring activities.

(4) Personal information provided through means such as signup for members-only websites operated by the Company is used solely for the purposes stipulated on such members-only websites. (See each members-only website for more information.)

(5) Personal information obtained from commercially available directories, employee records, and similar sources is used for purposes such as providing introductions to and information on the products or services of Company businesses, trade shows, and seminars, and requesting cooperation in surveys.

(6) Personal information concerning trading partners provided through interviews, business cards, documents, or other means is used in procurement and communication operations of Company businesses.

(7) Personal information concerning shareholders is used for performance of obligations established under laws, regulations, or contracts with the Company, handling exercise of rights, sending business reports and other documents, and communication.

(8) Personal information concerning participants obtained through activities such as those of academic associations and external research conferences is used solely for the purposes of such activities.

(9) Personal information recorded in conversations or other interactions with customers is used to respond appropriately.

4. Procedures for responding to demands for disclosure or other action

The Company responds as described below to requests from customers to be informed of the purpose of use of personal data submitted, for disclosure or correction thereof (e.g., addition, revision), for cessation of the use thereof (e.g., deletion), or demands from customers to cease provision to third parties or to disclose records of such provision:

Customers using members-only websites operated by the Company are asked to contact the contact point indicated in the terms of use of such members-only websites.

(2) Procedures

a ) Contact the above contact point by post, telephone, or email.

b ) The Company will send the request form and/or other documents to the address you specify. (Please provide a postal or email address.)

c ) Fill in the specified information on the request form and send it to the contact point under (1) above, by post.

  • Please complete a request form for each request and enclose official proof of your identity and address. See the request form for more information.
  • For a request made by proxy, please enclose official proof of the identity of both the applicant and the proxy and have the applicant sign and seal the letter of attorney attached to the request form. See the request form for more information.
  • When requesting disclosure of your personal information, enclose the processing fee in addition to the above. See Paragraph (3).

d ) After checking the details of your request, the Company will investigate and process the matter promptly.
It will reply by post, email, or other means.

(3) Processing fee

When requesting disclosure, enclose with the request form 500 yen in postage stamps as a processing fee. Note that the Company is unable to respond to a disclosure request for which no processing fee is enclosed. Requests for notification of purpose of use, correction, cessation of use, and cessation of provision to third parties are processed free of charge.

(4) Exceptions

Simplified requests are accepted without using the request form in the following exceptional cases. Responses to the following requests will be made by post, telephone, or email without including personal information.

a ) Inquiries concerning only whether or not the Company possesses your personal information
(The reply will indicate only whether or not the Company possesses your personal information. See Paragraph (2) Procedures above if you require disclosure, etc. of your personal information.)

b ) Requests for disclosure of only the subject items of your personal information possessed by the Company
(The reply will not indicate the content of any data under each subject item.)

c ) Requests to cease sending mail or emails containing introductions to and information on Company products or services, trade shows, and seminars, requests for cooperation in surveys, etc., made to the contact points indicated in such mail or emails
(In such a case, you will not be notified of completion of processing of your request to stop sending mail or emails unless you request such notification.)

(5) Handling of personal information in connection with processing of requests

In processing a request, the Company will obtain personal information by telephone, from the request form or identification, or through other means. This personal information will be used solely for the purpose of processing the request and will be deleted promptly after completion of the Company's processing and response.

Address any complaints, requests for consultation, or inquiries regarding the Company's handling of personal information other than those described under "4. Procedures for responding to demands for disclosure or other action" above to the following contact point.

7. Measures for managing the security of personal data held*

8. Providing personal information

The Company does not provide personal information to third parties except in the cases identified below:

(1) Provision to Company agents or partners to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use

(2) Exchange of personal information with financial institutions and other parties during payment of charges and similar procedures, to check information such as account numbers and credit-card validity.

(3) When the customer has consented to such provision when providing the personal information.

(4) When disclosure is required under laws or regulations.

9. Subcontracting of personal information

The Company may entrust personal information provided to it to external parties for purposes such as subcontracting communication operations.
When doing so, the Company assesses the level of control of personal information held by subcontractors, chooses only vendors that implement necessary security measures, and manages and supervises them appropriately.

10. Revisions to published information concerning personal information (data) provided

The Company makes improvements as necessary to handle personal information provided by customers, trading partners, job applicants, those who have made inquiries to the Company, and others more appropriately. Any improvements or revisions will be announced promptly on this webpage.
