JFE Systems and Crosslink Food Solutions launch
Solution for Food Safety "Mercrius" in North America

JFE Systems, Inc. (President & CEO: Makoto Iwahashi, Head Office: Sumida-ku, Tokyo) agreed with Crosslink Food Solutions, LLC (President: Neil Baker, Head Office: Columbus, OH, USA) to enter an exclusive distributorship in North America of award-winning Quality Information Management System for Food Industry "Mercrius".

JFE Systems (JFE-SI) agreed to grant Crosslink Food Solutions (CFS) an exclusive distributorship of "Mercrius", which is already very popular among Japanese major food processors, in North America where public concern for "Food Safety" is very high as well as in Japan.

JFE-SI started to sell "Mercrius" to food processors in 2002, and from then it has developed a series of software solutions which support ensuring "Food Safety and Integrity". "Mercrius", the principal merchandise among them, has been already adopted by more than 50 major food processors in Japan, and is now regarded as "de facto standard" solution in the industry.

JFE-SI and Crosslink Management Services (CMS, the parent company of CFS) made a market research in North America since February 2008, and concluded that the significant functions of "Mercrius", such as information integration, workflow management, quick and easy search for specific quality information of ingredients or merchandise, easy and accurate transaction of quality information with upstream suppliers / downstream customers, have competitive edge in this market as well as in Japan. Eventually, CMS, which has become confident the promised future of "Mercrius", founded CFS for the special purpose of marketing and selling software solutions for food industry. JFE-SI and CFS are now planning to complete the first user implementation of this solution by the end of 2009.

The strategic goals, JFE-SI is aiming by this partnership with CFS, are as follows;

  • Supply "Mercrius" in USA, Canada and Mexico
  • Marketing and sales of other proprietary solutions for food industry
  • Development of human resources with capability of international business
